Jan 5, 2011 | My Digital Studio, Scrapbook Pages |
I originally made this layout as a traditional scrapbook page – CLICK HERE to see it. When Stampin’ Up! announced a My Digital Studio contest I decided to see if I could recreate this layout using My Digital Studio. I had fingers crossed that I might win but I did not. The ladies that did had some amazing creations and you can see their entries HERE.
This is one of my entries – First Day Scrapbook page – featuring Ryan.
One of the things that I could do on My Digital Studio was add his name in white on the driveway portion of the picture – it’s supposed to look like it was drawn with chalk. It isn’t really part of the picture but something I was able to add digitally. Ryan is now in high school – a freshman – my how he has grown!
I’m going to start having some MDS classes at my house later this month. I added details in my newsletter for January. We’ll start with the basics and go on from there. You’ll need My Digital Studio loaded on a laptop to bring to my house – and be sure you have some pictures too so you can create some projects. I want this to be a hands on class so everyone needs their own work station.

One of the great thins about demonstrators getting together is we share ideas and things we have learned with one another. At my November meeting I asked Cindy Schuster to do a presentation for the meeting. She told us lots of great information, showed us 12×12 Individual pages that she had printed by Stampin’ Up! and showed us how to make a Hybrid project using My Digital Studio. Hybrid project use a combination of digital and traditional to create a finished project. Cindy even brought materials for everyone at the meeting to create our own hybrid card for one of our Make&Take projects – how great is she!
Here is the card we all got to make. You can go HERE to Cindy’s blog to read her details about this card and some other hybrid projects that she made.
There are two elements that were created using My Digital Studio – the patterned paper layer that is on top of the Real Red card stock base. The elements are from the Candy Cane Lane Photocard Digital Kit digital download. Two of the different paper patterns are combined on the back and then a punched edge was added in between them.
The top layer added the ornament elements and then a greeting. The two different MDS elements were printed on Whisper White card stock. We cut them out and layered them on the Real Red card stock – it was a quick card to put together. You could even add ribbon, or glitter or other elements.
Let’s continue with Bingo….
Here we go with Monika’s Blog Bingo. This is Round 7! The group is full and all the cards were emailed out Monday 11/29. See this POST for more details on how to play and the previous winners and the players for this round.
And now for today’s piece – Here is piece #5–the snowflake from the Season of Friendship stamp set (stamped in Concord Crush).

So I’m slow getting started this week. This cold has just drained me for the last couple of days. Believe it or not I still have to clean up from the class I had right before we went out of town for Thanksgiving! I had the class, ran a million errands, packed and we left town – all I did was put all the stuff in baskets and all in one room and today I moved it all back up to the craft room to put away. I did spend time this morning finishing a Christmas Card in My Digital Studio. I sent it off to print at Stampin’ Up! – I just printed a few so I could see what they look like before I print a bunch. I hope it gets here soon so I can see it. Here is a peek at the inside of the card:

For a card you get to create three pages – the front, then two insides – in my case the card folds at the top so it has a top and bottom inside page and this is the bottom one. I can’t show the front yet because I entered it into a My Digital Studio contest and we won’t know the winners until the end of December (I think). Although now that I created this one I may like it better – its so hard to decide – but it doesn’t matter because I can print them all as part of my card. I even added pearls – it is one of the newest downloads available for My Digital Studio.

I don’t know what your weather is like but it is POURING down rain here – like you wouldn’t believe. And I feel so bad for the UPS man – you might wonder why – well in our neighborhood this is the week that UPS starts delivering inside of our neighborhood using a golf cart and trailer. I think it is a way for them to make better use of the trucks – so they fill the truck – it comes to our neighborhood and unloads into storage trailer – then they spend all day delivering on the golf cart while the truck goes and gets more packages. Well today is not a good day to do that – the poor guys is getting soaked not to mention trying to keep all the packages dry. I just saw him go up our street – he has a tarp covering the trailer with all the packages. You may wonder if this means my packages are delayed – over the last few years I actually get things a day early when they do this!
It is time to start a new round of Monika’s Blog Bingo. This is Round 7! The group is full and all the cards were emailed out yesterday (Monday 11/29). I may play again in the future so I hope you will continue to visit my blog and leave comments. See this POST for more details on how to play and the previous winners and the players for this round.

Nov 23, 2010 | Baroque Motifs, Bingo, My Digital Studio, UDI Color Challenge, Upsy Daisy |
We are movin’ right along with the color challenge’s each week – we are already on week #11 of the Utah Diva’s Color Challenge. Here is our inspiration for this week:

For this week I decided to play with these colors in My Digital Studio. Stampin’ Up! has recently release several new project options for My Digital Studio so I decided to create something using the new calendar size that was added. Here is some more information about the recent update: The My Digital Studio version 1.0.5 update is now available. With this latest update, you will receive functionality upgrades as well as access to seven new professional print output products–including a trifold card, a journal, a 5.5″ x 6.5″ calendar with easel, and four postcards.
My birthday is in the month of March and these look like March colors to me so I created that month’s page for this weeks color challenge. Here is the result:

I started with the template in My Digital Studio – the designer template for a calendar already has the name of the month and all the numbers lined up in the right place for you. I did go in and change the color and opacity for all the numbers and the title – they are Chocolate Chip at 100%. I added a Background paper which is Very Vanilla Textured card stock. I used three digital stamp brush sets to decorate the page – Upsy Daisy, Baroque Motifs, For All You Do.
The butterflies are all the same image but I changed the sizes, colors and turned them in different directions. The flowers from Upsy Daisy set are flipped and the opacity is reduced and I added drop shadows on them. I highlighted St. Patricks day in Pear Pizzazz and my birthday in Rose Red. I also went back and added some Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon and a Bow – since our inspiration picture had that on the dress I thought I would dress up my calendar page the same way!
From now until November 30th you can purchase My Digital Studio at 50% off during the Online Extravaganza – plus some of the digital downloads are also on sale. Just visit my online store on my website. Or you can sign up as a new demonstrator with the Digital+ Starter Kit for half-price. If you want to know more about either of these let me know.
Now it is your turn to play with these colors – then go to the UDI blog and add your creation to the linky section.
