Convention – here I come!

I’m so excited!  Today was the day we could register for the Stampin’ Up! convention.  It will be in August this year the same week that school starts but I am headed to Salt Lake City!  And all three of my roommates from last year are going too – we are going to have the best time!    Now to get flights and our hotel….  It’s not too late to join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator and get registered to come to convention with me – call me if you want to learn more.

Stampin’ Up! also announced the winners of the Scrapbook Class Challenge today.  I didn’t win this time but my class was still featured on the Stampin’ Up! website!  That in itself is exciting!  It’s the Butterfly Kisses & Birthday Wishes page that I made for my mom’s birthday pictures.  Which happens to be the same layout that we made at my March Scrapbook class – we just used different colors for that one.  Both were posted on my blog earlier –

Click Here – to see the Butterfly Kisses & Birthday Wishes 2-page layout

My next scrapbook class at my home will be on April 29th.

If you can’t come to classes but would like to purchase scrapbook kits – check out the WowScrapbookKits blog that I created for Wendy and I to sell monthly scrapbook kits and individual layouts.  Here is a peek at this month’s kit:

I finished up the April Class Kit to Go and will get that information posted soon.  I’ll be back later today.

How it Works

  1. At the time you sign up, you fill out your Starter Kit form and other paperwork as usual, but you must also write “Three Easy Payments option” at the top of each form. (Please note that the Three Easy Payments option is not available through the Online Independent Demonstrator Application. Recruits who wish to take advantage of the offer must submit their paperwork by mail to Demonstrator Support.)
  2. You must also complete a separate Three Easy Payments form.
  3. Using the credit card information provided on the Three Easy Payments form, Stampin’ Up! charges the initial Starter Kit payment (see the table below for a breakdown of payments) on the day paperwork is processed and sends you the Starter Kit.
  4. On or around the 15th day of the two months following the month Stampin’ Up! received your paperwork, Stampin’ Up! will charge the subsequent payments using the same credit card information provided on the Three Easy Payments form, and the Starter Kit will be paid in full. Stampin’ Up! will only accept the same credit card for all three payments, as provided on the Three Easy Payments form. Checks or money orders will not be accepted.

Details and Restrictions

  • To qualify for the Three Easy Payments option on the discounted Sale-A-Bration Starter Kit price of $169, Starter Kit paperwork and an accompanying Three Easy Payments form must be received by Stampin’ Up! (not postmarked) on or before March 31, 2009. Paperwork received after this time will be processed for the regular Starter Kit price of $199.
  • After Sale-A-Bration, to qualify for the Three Easy Payments option on the regular Starter Kit price of $199, Starter Kit paperwork and an accompanying Three Easy Payments form must be received by Stampin’ Up! (not postmarked) on or before April 30, 2009. Any Three Easy Payments forms received after this time will not be processed. Demonstrator Support will contact the recruit to determine how she would like to proceed.
  • Any applicable state taxes will be charged with the first Starter Kit payment. (The full amount of taxes applicable to the total Starter Kit amount will be added to the first payment. No taxes will be applied to the second and third payments.)
  • For recruits who wish to add the Stampin’ Memories Starter Kit add-on for $50.00, this full amount (including any applicable taxes for the add-on) will be added to their initial Starter Kit payment.
  • Any commissions for the demonstrator will be held until the final Starter Kit payment is successfully completed. At that point, Stampin’ Up! will release commissions to the demonstrator. In the event that the second or third payment is unsuccessful, Stampin’ Up! will satisfy the payment from the demonstrator’s commissions and if necessary continue to hold commissions until the full Starter Kit payment is satisfied. Any remaining funds will then be released to the demonstrator.
  • The Three Easy Payments option is not available through the Online Independent Demonstrator Application. Recruits who wish to take advantage of the offer must submit their paperwork by mail to Demonstrator Support.

Treat Yourself Box

treat-boxSaturday night was the STARZ group meeting.  Wendy Randall is our wonderful leader and holds a meeting for her group every other month.  I have my group meeting the opposite month – my group is named PAWS – which stands for Play Alot With Stamps.  There is an awesome recruit special right now and I would love to have you as part of my team so contact me today if you would like to learn more.  There is information on my website – www.monika.stampinup.net – including some videos you can watch.  And click here to read more details about the recruiting special.

At the STARZ meeting Wendy had four great projects for us to make.  So after a little bit of business learning we got to stamping.  Just to let you know when Stampin’ Up! demonstrators get together we normally take some time to stamp no matter where we might be.  Here is one of the projects and it would have been much cuter if I had paid more attention to which color ink I picked up – but really that is the way I wanted it to be – there are no mistakes in stamping – I meant to do that and it still looks cute.

This little box uses the Big Shot and the Bag w/ Scallops die and also the Texture Plates.  First we cut out our bag and then added the texture.  Before assembling we applied some ink with a direct-to-paper technique to the textured dots and added stitching with the white gel pen.  Make sure to use Sticky Strip to assemble the box so it all stays together.  On the lid we added a scallop circle punch and then the cupcake accent is from the new stamp set Wagon Full of Fun – it will be in the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog but is available to order now.  We stamped with StazOn ink on Watercolor paper and used the Aqua Painter and classic ink to color it in.  The closure is a couple of clear Rhinestone brads and some linen thread.  These would make cute little party treats – just fill with a bit of candy and your ready to go!

Have a wonderful day and Treat Yourself to something good today!

Happy Stamping,

Monika
