Santa’s Suit

This Santa’s Suit stamp set is so cute!  The Photopolymer set has all the different pieces to create fun cards and a coordinating die set called Santa Builder Framelits.

It stamps so nicely.  I did the outline of all the images in black and then stamped the filler images mostly in Real Red.  The suspenders are colored in with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker and so is his belt buckle and the clothes pins.  There are stamps to fill in the suspenders and the clothes pins but we were already using up all my little blocks so I thought the markers worked just as easily.

I also used the Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker to color in his heads, hands, and feet.

On the inside of the card I added his boots.  On this one I also have mittens on the inside.  But on the others that I made I included those on the front clothes line.  When I made this card I spaced the front too far apart and they wouldn’t fit.

The tag is part of the Framelits dies. And I tied it on with a piece of the Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon.  The red striped Designer Paper is from the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper pack.

The Santa’s Suit stamp set, Santa Builder Framelits Dies, the Santa’s Suit Bundle and the Christmas Around the World Designer Series paper will all be retiring after this Holiday catalog ends.  Be sure to order them now before they are gone.

This card was part of my Stamp a Stack class last month. Everyone in my class made a set of 5 of these cards.

Season of Cheer

I hope you were able to get in your reservation for the Stamparatus – our new stamp positioning tool coming out in 2018.  If you need help let me know.  It’s going to be great to use when you need to make multiples of a card.  For example a Stamp-a-Stack class would be a perfect setting for a tool like this.  I’ve been sharing some of my cards from my Christmas Card stamp-a-stack classes and I have another one to show you today.

season-of-cheer

This one was my take on a card created by my friend Connie Collins.  She is so talented and will be part of the 2018 Artisan Design Team for Stampin’ Up!  I can’t wait to see what she creates with our new products in 2018.

For my card I used a Crumb Cake card base and then a couple of layers of the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series paper.  I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for the circle that I stamped my greeting on.  The stamp set is Watercolor Wishes – I do believe it was my most used stamp set this season.  The big words really worked on so many of my cards.  The white circle and the white music print were both sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  I finished with Linen Thread and a snowflake die cut out of the Champagne Foil using the large snowflake from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.

Everyone in my class made a set of 5 of these cards.

Ready for Christmas

Are you ready for Christmas?  I’m not.  We are in the middle of doing some redecorating – replacing furniture which now includes painting all the walls and replacing the baseboards in the main floor of the house.  So I haven’t even pulled out any Christmas stuff.  Instead I’m trying to find a place to put the stuff that was in/on the furniture I’m getting rid of until the new stuff comes – hopefully before Christmas (but maybe not).   On my card today this little dog is ready for Christmas!

Ready-for-Christmas

This is the Ready for Christmas bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.  It’s the fun staircase stamp set and coordinating thinlits dies.  Right now you can still purchase as a bundle and save 10%.  In the new year these two will still be available but not as a bundle – only as individual items.

On this card I’ve also used one of the Stampin’ Blends – Bronze color – to color in the little dog.  Oh my he looks so good! It was just the perfect color for him and for the Chocolate Chip Cookies.

ready-christmas-card

The plate and sweater are colored in with Stampin’ Write Markers because the colors I wanted to use don’t come in the Stampin’ Blends.  I did hear that we will be adding more colors in the future!

The little table is stamped on the Wood Textures Designer Paper Stack – since there is all different sheets with different types of wood you could pick what you want for your table.  Then I used the die set to cut it out, and the dog and the cookies.

The Holly Embossing folder was perfect for the background – don’t miss it – it’s in the annual catalog.  And the rug is a strip from the Quilted Christmas Designer Paper Stack.

On the inside of the card (and also on the envelope) I stamped a portion of the Christmas Tree.

This card was part of my November Christmas Stamp-a-stack class.  Everyone that came made 5 of these during the class.

Color Theory Trees

There are so many wonderfully creative ideas out there on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and other places.  I often mark ideas that I love and use them later either as a starting point for something or sometimes they are quite perfect and I stick very close to the original idea I found.  Often I’m not exactly sure who created the idea and for all I know they could have copied it from somewhere else.  So today’s card is an idea I found online – I believe it came from someone over in Europe as the stamped words on the card were not in English.  So it was likely from someone in Germany.   I thought it was a clever idea to use some of our all occasion designer paper for a Christmas card idea.

color-theory-trees

This is the Color Theory Paper Stack and I used these cards in a couple of my classes.  The color options included Dapper Denim, Old Olive and Crushed Curry.  The Designer Paper is paired with the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits – the tree and the star die are from that set.  But you could do this same idea with just a tree die that perhaps wasn’t even Christmas.

The words are from the coordinating Santa’s Sleigh stamp set.  Both of these were from last years Holiday catalog and carried over into our Annual catalog.  Cut a strip of the paper and then cut out the two trees and a hand full of stars.  Adhere everything to a Whisper White card base and its done.

Oh Joy with Foil

I heard from a few people that they are already done making all their cards and ready to get them in the mailbox!  That is wonderful!  I stopped in the post office yesterday and picked up some holiday stamps.  They had a variety of choices – have you done that yet?

I love how this card turned out.  I used the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It is so much nicer in person than how it looks in the catalog.  For my cards I used the Soft Sky patterns but I think the other colors would be fun too – at least the Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst would be bright and cheerful for the holidays.  The Tangerine Tango I will save for something else.

oh-joy-foil-card

I used the Watercolor Wishes set again.  I’ve been using it a bunch the last couple of months.  And I have more card kits and I may have a little pop-up class to make some more of the kit cards – I’m going to look for a day in early December to fit that in.

The Layering Oval framelits are the two layers of the greeting – a Whisper White oval to stamp the greeting on – and I used Basic Black ink.  Then the Soft Sky scallopped oval in the back.  Layer it on a piece of the Foil Frenzy.  I finished with a little bit of Baker’s Twine.  It’s a quick card to put together but the foil really makes it shine!

Quilted Christmas

Christmas card season is upon us.  I received my first one in the mail yesterday.  How about you?  Have you made yours?  Have you planned anything yet?  Well if you need some inspiration I’ve got ideas to share with you.  So keep coming back to see what is new on my blog.

Today I have a card that uses the Christmas Quilt bundle from the Holiday catalog.  This one actually came about because of left over pieces I had from another card.  I’ll share that one on another day because I apparently didn’t take any photos of it yet.

quilt-card

The bundle includes the Christmas Quilt stamp set and the Quilt Builder Framelits Dies.  I also used the coordinating Quilted Christmas Designer Series paper.  The greeting is stamped in Garden Green.  My card base is the Thick Whisper White card stock.  The very center is finished with a pearl.

You can get all the items for this card in my online store.
