Sep 11, 2012 | Christmas, Clearance Rack, Fabric |
I wanted to share with you today about an organization that I have recently learned about. It’s called Operation Stars & Stripes and a friend of mine is the President. And they are going to turn this – 60 packs of the 99cent Stampin’ Up! Fabric.
Into this – Stockings for the troops –
But they need more fabric! They are out of fabric again, and still need about 4000 more stockings made for the holidays. If anyone else wants to donate clearance rack fabric, we are happy to provide them with a receipt for tax purposes. You can send it to this address:
Operation Stars & Stripes, Inc.

Here is some information:
At Operation Stars & Stripes, Inc., our dedicated volunteers have been busy sewing stockings year round to prepare for our 12th annual, Operation Holiday Stockings Campaign. Thousands of stockings will be filled with highly-requested items and seasonal treats and sent to our service members overseas for the holiday season. Many of the troops decorate their otherwise austere living quarters with the beautiful handmade stockings and often bring them home to reuse year after year or give to their children. We were thrilled to learn about Stampin’ Up’s clearance rack fabric and know the troops will enjoy the lovely patterns offered by Stampin’ Up. There are many ways to use your creative talents to support the troops at little to no cost to you. If you are interested, please contact us at www.OperationStarsAndStripes.org or Info@OperationStarsAndStripes.org. We would love to speak with you about ways you may enjoy becoming involved to support our heroes and their families.
Operation Stars & Stripes, Inc. is a 501(c )(3), not-for-profit organization that supports America’s military and their families at home and abroad. They were founded in May of 2001 and are based out of Marietta, Georgia.
Thanks for visiting today. It’s a day to remember…..
Sep 27, 2010 | Bingo, class, D is for Dog, Fabric, Holiday Mini Catalog 2010 |
This project was one from my Love Your Pets class. Its a treat jar – mine is decorated for a dog but I gave the class the option of doing a dog or cat. We used the D is for Dog and C is for Cat stamp sets. And the jars are decorated with the new Stampin’ Up! fabric in Holiday Mini Catalog and the Big Buttons.
I used one of the fabric patterns from the Deck the Halls bundle and the coordinating Big Designer Buttons. The fabric is torn into strips and wrapped around the jar to overlap the ends. Then I used Linen Thread to tie around it and hold it tight and then I put one of the big buttons on it. So its not a fabric sewing project but it is a fabric project!
The lid is decorated with elements from the D is for Dog stamp set. And the new 2″ Circle punch is exactly the right size for the top of the jar – these were the regular mouth jars not the wide-mouth. And I ran the circle through the Square lattice embossing folder too.
I also created a tag to tie around the button – the D is for dog stamp is punched with the small tag punch and layered with the large tag punch. The paw print is punched with the 3/4″ circle punch, and the bone is cut out. They are all threaded on a piece of Linen Thread and tied around the big button.
I filled it with dog treats and now it sits on my counter. I really like this fabric because the patterns aren’t really Christmas patterns – you can use them for every day projects not just holiday projects. I can keep this on the counter year round. And I know Aspen and Magnolia will be happy about that!
