September  18 – 20, 2015

Are you ready to get away from it all?  Leave behind the family, the laundry, the cooking, the cleaning and come join us for a fun Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat.  It’s a Holiday PARTY!!  Come party with us at Monika’s House September 18 – 20, 2015.

Arrive on Friday afternoon – come set up your craft space, bring an appetizer to share with everyone on Friday evening for our dinner.  We will have games and prizes on Friday night.  Make & Takes will be scheduled for Friday night and Saturday.  All meals included on Saturday.  Finish up on Sunday and pack up and head back home in the early afternoon.  We have Make & Take projects planned as part of the retreat – and everyone will receive a Goody Bag with supplies and extras.  And little surprises throughout the weekend!

Bring whatever creative projects you would like to work on.  You will have table space set up for the whole weekend – so bring your scrap-booking, card making, Project Life, laptop for My Digital Studio, Paper Pumpkin kits, jewelry making, knitting – the choice is yours.

I have some space in my house if you want to spend the night here instead of going home or there is a hotel one exit south just a few minutes away.  I will have three Queen beds upstairs, some sofa space,  or we can put an air matress on the floor.   Or stay as late as you want in the evening – go sleep at home and come back in the morning!

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

I wanted to share with you another little treat that I gave to all by stampers at the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat earlier this month.  It was a birthday theme so everything was birthday related.  And cupcakes are the perfect little birthday treat and all dressed up Stampin’ Up! style makes them even better!

cupcake-birthdayI baked the cupcakes in a jar!  I posted a cupcake in a jar a couple of weeks ago – those were when I was practicing to see if I could bake them in the jar and have them turn out.  I add frosting, sprinkles and little edible flower decorations on the inside.  I forgot to take a picture with the jar open.  Here is a closer look at the front.

cupcake-frontI made a banner using the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series paper (in the Occasions catalog) and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch (on the Retirement list and on sale).  I strung the banners on some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine.  I tied that around the jar with a knot and then added some of the Calypso Coral Pom Pom trim (already sold out – so sad) plus a candle and tucked a little wooden spoon behind.  Then tied a bow with the twine.

cupcake-topA closer look at the top you can see more Birthday Bash Designer Paper and then I stamped the Sketched Birthday stamp set (on the retired list).  I used Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay and my punches.

Everyone enjoyed their little birthday treats at the retreat.  It was a really fun weekend and I can’t wait to do it again.

Mini Treat Bags for all Occasions

Last weekend was the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat and it was so much fun!  The theme was birthday and on Friday night all the girls received a little birthday themed treat.  The idea came from a swap that I received from my friend Linda at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference back in January.  I loved the idea so much I wanted to use it for the retreat.  And then Cindy and I decided to go a bit further and use the idea for our Make&Take project on Friday night so we got creative and made three more designs – a graduation, wedding and baby themed bag.  All the bags were made using the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper, the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies and the Celebrate Today stamp set.

treat-bag-collectionAs part of their goody bag of supplies everyone received part of a pack of the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series paper, pieces of all the coordinating card stock and pieces from the Basics Hodgepodge clips.  Here is a closer look at each treat bag.

treat-bag-birthdayThe Birthday Bag was the one that Cindy and I made ahead of time and left as a surprise on everyone’s work table.  Inside I added party supplies – a whistle, buzzer, candy stick, blow pop, and a lottery ticket.

treat-bag-graduationThe end of the school year is here or almost here for everyone so many are in need of graduation ideas so we wanted to create a graduation bag – fill it with some cash or a gift card and the new graduate will be thrilled.

treat-bag-weddingAnd it’s wedding season too – we focused on hearts – the heart clip and a glittery heart die cut.  Are you headed to any weddings this June?  We had one last year in June but I don’t think I have one to attend this year.

treat-bag-babyThe colors in this paper even made a fun baby version – the Bermuda Bay has the blue for a boy and the Calypso Coral has the pink for a girl and the Crushed Curry can go either way.  Fill it with something for the new little one – socks or a onesie would fit inside or something for the new mom (and dad too).

A fun collection of little bags for all occasions and the Celebrate Today stamp set works for all of them – perfect for birthdays, graduation, wedding and baby!  Everyone at the retreat seemed to love making these bags.

treat-bag-stripThanks for stopping by today.  I’m trying to get myself back to a regular posting schedule and will try to have some regular features on certain days of the week.  I’m working on my plan and now to see if I can implement it and then keep it going!

Have a great day!

Nuts About You

Yep – that’s what I wanted to say to everyone that came to the Stamp, Scrap & Create retreat that was about a month ago (it was at the end of September).  So I made this cute little treat for them – it was another one of their surprise table gifts.

nuts-about-you

I found these tiny little jars at the store – they are supposed to be shot glasses that look like canning jars.  I wanted to fill them with trail mix.  The only problem with these jars is that they didn’t have lids.  So my solution was to cover the tops with one of the tea lace doilies.  I used the new two-toned trim from the Holiday catalog to tie around the rim to hold it tight.  A little strip of Designer Paper is wrapped around the rim to dress it up a little bit.  The tag is from the cute little Nuts About You hostess stamp set.   The little squirrel and words fit perfectly on the ticket punch.

Thanks for stopping by.  I’m trying to get all my fall projects posted before I start sharing the Christmas themed ones.  I also have lots more to share on Alaska – I need to get back to that too!

Enjoy your day!

Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat – Tiny Treat Box gift

One of the fun things about the Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat are the little gifts that everyone gets.  It’s like the pillow gifts that Stampin’ Up! gives when you go on one of their incentive trips.  But since not everyone at the retreat is staying the night instead of leaving them gifts on their pillows I leave them on their table spot where they are crafting.  This year the first little gift they got was a Tiny Treat Box.

bitty-boxInside these cute little boxes was a package of the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape – it’s just the perfect size to fit inside!  Everyone then used the washi tape on one of the Make&Take projects and took the rest home.
