Hello to you! I hope you are well, staying safe and staying busy. This might be a great time to get some crafting done. With Easter coming up quickly this weekend I thought I’d share a couple of projects that I made this week. You can see these projects on my Facebook Live from April 6, 2020 – you can watch that here – https://www.facebook.com/325026102188/videos/1368024350047514/
In past years we have had big family events for Easter – sometimes with 35 people at our house. The past couple of years we haven’t done that and this year it will just be Greg and I. I guess it will be just like any other day but I thought I’d make a couple of little treats for the table and I may take some to the neighbors and I’m making cards to send to our family. So let me show you:
Easter Card
This idea came from the back of the Jan-June Mini catalog and I used stamp sets and dies that I already had on hand. The bunnies are colored with Stampin’ Blends – Crumb Cake light and Petal Pink light. The grass die cut was cut into two pieces and trimmed to fit inside the stitching on the Stitched So Sweetly rectangle die. Then I glued them on top of each other and added the bunnies with dimensionals. If you want the grass to look more like grass you can trim off the cat tails but I didn’t want to take the time to do that.

Bunny Treat
I saw this little bunny treat shared online and it is so quick an easy to make with strips of Designer Series Paper. Wrap a hershey nugget or similar candy to go inside the bunny shape. They would make cute little treats to put at the table on Sunday. I’ve made some with the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.

Spring Umbrella Cone
I made a little umbrella cone project as an alternate idea for the March 2020 – No Matter the Weather Paper Pumpkin kit. My original project used one of the envelopes to create the cone and then added candy and a tag using supplies from the kit. I decided to make another one using regular supplies that I had on hand. The Daisy punch can be used to make a bunny head and the balloon punch can be used to make eggs. To create the cone – trace a plate on a piece of 6×6 Designer Series paper.

My classes will be a little different for the time being. At the end of March I tried a quick call to go – it was kind of a last minute thing. I’m working on a class to go – or class by mail – not sure what to call it yet. It will feature the new Ornate Garden Suite. I’ll share more about that soon.
Just 2 more days until the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog and 2017 Occasions Catalog officially retire! Don’t miss some great products – Gorgeous Grunge is one of my most used stamp sets and the Star Framelits and star punch are retiring – that one still baffles me. So if you want the stars get them now.
2 more days until the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog begins! Ordering begins June 1st at 2:00 PM ET (12 noon MT). If you don’t have your new catalog yet let me know.
Here is another Something Old project for you:
This uses the Cool Treats Suite from the Occasions catalog. This sweet is perfect for summer! And luckily the stamp set and the framelits are staying – but the two bundled together will retire – so save 10% by ordering them as a bundle now. The fun Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Paper is also retiring. The Watermelon Wonder is one of our retiring In-Colors and it is in this paper – I used the card stock to make the little strawberries – aren’t they the cutest! Some other items in the suite are the washi tape and Sprinkles Embellisments – those will be retiring too. If you go to the Stampin’ Up! FB page the Artisan Design team had a bunch of projects with this suite.
And today’s something new project –
How about this fun, bright, birthday card! It features one of our brand new In-Colors called Lemon Lime Twist! I used the card stock and a piece of the new Fresh Florals Designer Paper Stack for this card. This new color on the Basic Black just pops! I also used a brand new bundle – Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle – it’s one that you might overlook in the catalog. It includes this awesome Happy Birthday Thinlits die – I love the font and the size of it. And there is a stamp set that you can use with it – that’s where the word BELATED comes from. I think I need a whole big stack of these cards since I’ve missed lots of birthdays since the beginning of the year.
Remember to SHOP NOW for the retiring items and make your shopping list for new items to order in June. If you live local be sure to come to my Catalog Kickoff Party & BOGO Sale on Saturday, June 17 – visit my calendar HERE.
Now that the new year has come and gone it’s time to work on Valentine’s Day – it will be here before we know. We are almost half way through January already! Where in the world does the time go. I had high hopes of getting so many things done over the holidays and it really just didn’t happen. Sigh.
At the end of December I had my monthly Card Maker’s class and created this Valentine’s card as one of the selections.
I used a couple of new products from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.
The Sending Love Designer Paper Stack – which is a fun 6×6 sized stack of red and while designs. There are 8 double-sided designs in the stack.
I also used a new stamp set called Falling for You. It’s part of the Falling in Love Suite which has products that are romantic and shabby chic. Think marriage, wedding, love.
The heart is from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits die set. I wonder why they gave that one a different name instead of just calling it layering hearts like they did the circles, squares, and ovals. Even the stars are just called stars. I want to call it layering hearts.
The Baker’s Twine is actually from the Holiday Catalog – I wish they had kept that little pack as it was perfect for Valentine’s projects this time of year.
The Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog will be starting soon. On September 1st to be exact. Yes it is time to prepare for the holidays but before we start looking at Christmas I wanted to take a quick peek at some of the Halloween products in the Holiday Catalog.
I am trying to start making some videos so that is what I have done for my peeks at this Holiday Catalog. I think I made 4 videos and I’ll share them over the next few days. The Holiday catalogs that were mailed out are starting to arrive in mailboxes now and I’ll be handing them out at my classes starting this week. Ordering won’t begin until Sept. 1st – so for now you just have to make a wish list!
I’m not totally comfortable doing the video thing so hopefully I’m not too boring. This one is just to give you a better look at some of the products – looking at the pages of the catalog doesn’t always give you the best impression.
I can’t show you the pages of the catalog yet – there are some more Halloween items – the ones in the video are the ones that I have purchased during the pre-order for demonstrators.
At the OnStage Live event in April I hosted a dinner and treat swap. We met at the Red Rock Brewery which seems to have become a tradition now. In the past we have done a card swap and then on top of that some people would bring little treats to give to friends too. So I thought why don’t we just swap little treat ideas so that was what we did and I think everyone really enjoyed it. Usually we go to Salt Lake City in July and the weather has always been really nice but this time we went in April – weather is not so nice. It poured down rain and was really windy when we were trying to get to the restaurant that night.
There were 20 of us and a ton of cute little treat ideas. I know I’ll be using them throughout the year for various things. A couple I’ve already used since I’ve been home. Today I wanted to share mine with you. I made a little Pooh box using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits. They were so cute! The thinlits are in the Occasions catalog and have a stamp set called Playful Pals. If you order this month (May) you can get them as a bundle and save 15%. They will be in the new catalog but not as a bundle anymore. Here are a couple of the in progress photos:
I worked on the like an assembly line – cutting all the various pieces and then working on one part at a time. All the small pieces I stored in empty embellishment containers until I was ready to add them to my box. I used Hello Honey card stock – I thought that was pretty perfect for Pooh Bear but it’s retiring! So if you don’t have Hello Honey you may want to grab some. The little bow ties are Real Red. Here is a look at the front.
On the back I made a little trap door – the handle is a tiny Pool Party Butterfly added with a brad. And darn it if they aren’t retiring those little brads – I bought extras because I use them a lot. Here is a look at the back.
Inside the treat is none other than a little mini bag of gummy bears! Yummy! I love the real gummy bears from Germany. We always had those as kids and I’m glad they now sell them in the US. My kids got to grow up with them too.
Wouldn’t it be cute to add a piglet and tigger box too. Those will have to be future creations.
“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” – Winnie the Pooh
Remember to give someone a small little treat once in a while!
