I have been sending extra card fronts and cards to an organization called From Our Hearts. I sent a box a couple of months ago and they received it about the middle of June. Here is the link to their site and the post about my box – http://www.fromourhearts.info/2011/06/cards-received-from-woodstock-georgia.html
I’ll be sending another box to them at the end of this month. If you have extra cards or want to make card specifically for them they would appreciate the donation. You can also donate supplies such as envelopes, adhesive, and shipping supplies, or just cash – you can see all the information on their website.
Current needs for cards right now include –
Kids cards anytime
Card fronts from Stampin’ Up Events
Halloween cards by Sept. 15th
Christmas and Holiday cards by Oct. 30th
also supplies if you are cleaning out your stamping closet – reinkers, ribbon, inkpads, brads, papers and more – current or retired.
You can also read letters that the organization receives back from the soldiers that use the cards to send home to their families.
It’s a great time to give to someone else if you can.
Have a Happy 4th of July!

A year or more ago I found this organization called “From Our Hearts” – you can read more about them at their blog – CLICK HERE. A couple of months ago I sent them a box of cards – full cards and card fronts. The organization is run by volunteers who take the donated cards and get them prepared to send over seas to the servicemen and women serving our country. These are cards that they can use to send back here to their family and friends. If you have a minute visit their site and read about those sending cards and about the letters they get back from those that get to use them.
Today’s post on their blog has my last box – CLICK HERE – it was a collection of cards and card fronts that I had accumulated plus some that other demonstrators in the STARZ and PAWS groups had given to me to include in my shipment. I kept planning to sort and count and get them organized but it never got done and I finally decided it was better to send them on their way than for them to sit here in my house. I forgot to count them but the volunteers at From Our Hearts did that and here was the final tally:
76 Full cards and 242 card fronts! That was a lot. There are more pictures on their blog – I’ll just post this one here.
Now that we have a new catalog it is time to start a new box to send their way of cards that I can’t use or don’t need anymore. If you have cards you have made and no longer need but you don’t want to throw them away either – consider donating them to this cause. You can also help by donating money or other supplies – all the details are on their site.
I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!
Thanks for stopping by today.
