So apparently I haven’t posted to my blog in a month!  I need to get back on a schedule.  It has been a busy summer and I’ve done quite a bit of traveling and spending time with family.  Today in fact is my middle son’s birthday and we are packing up his apartment today too.  He is getting ready for a big move in less than two weeks.  But for now it’s time for our monthly A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  A blog hop filled with alternate ideas using contents from the monthly kit. This month our kit is – A Gift of Fall.

This month’s kit included 6 sweet gift bags with tons of supplies for tags.  Way more than what you need for the bags.  Plus you could buy a coordinating add-on of note cards and envelopes – the perfect companion to use up the rest of those pieces in the box.

I did some really quick alternate ideas.  I’m not sure you could even call them that.  Yesterday afternoon I sat down with my box and separated out all the pieces.  I set aside what I needed for my bags because I want to make those up so I have them ready to use this fall when I need them. Then I was left with a pile of left over bits and that is what I used for three really quick – I mean really quick and simple ideas.

Fall Treats

I found some fall treats at the store – these little packaged cakes.  They would be fun to decorate and hand out for a fall party or just because.  The tag is from the printed circle and I used one of the long banner pieces to add the enjoy.  Add some leaves and sequins, punch a hole, tie on with twine, done.

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:

  • a hole punch
  • packaged fall cakes

Super Quick Cards

Next I wanted to do something with the add-on note cards.  I love the printed envelopes that we get with Paper Pumpkin and this add-on kit was no exception.  These two cards came together very quickly.  One is literally just stamp the greeting on the tag and add to the front.  I’m sure someone else did the same thing.  You could literally have a stack of Thanksgiving cards done in no time at all.

The second one I wanted a thank you so I stamped that greeting on the larger tag.  And then created a little bunch of branches to tuck behind, tied them with twine, add sequins and done.

Supply List

The additional supplies that I added to complete this project were:

  • Gift of Fall Add-on

I told you they were quick and simple.  I need that quite often.  I’m going to finish up my stack of note cards as thank you notes.  And I’ll probably make some tags too – I need those for some orders I need to get to customers.  I hope you liked these quick alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts.

And can you guess which project Aspen liked the best?
